Auctioneer

The old building at 1005 W. Main Street was once a bank for the people established in 1886. The bank went broke before the Depression. The building then became a handyman shop. Mr. Denning purchased the land and turned the shop into a gun shop. The lot at 1001 W. Main Street once had a grocery store on it owned by George Coker which was destroyed by a tornado; that also destroyed the Mitchellville School.
