John Hinton Bio--John served for several years as Postmaster for the City of Portland. Always engaged in community affairs, he served in various offices for the Portland Jaycees and the Portland Lions Club including president of those organizations at different times. He was selected as Portland's Man of the Year by the Portland Jaycees. He was the "Voice of the Portland Panthers" for many years announcing play-by-play accounts of every home football game in the 1950s and 1960s. As an aacomplished photographer, he photographed many weddings and other events in the area. He also served as the area state correspondent and photographer for The Nashville Tennessean earning several front page bylines over the years. Some of his photographs were published in a nationally circulated magazine.
